March 2017: growth[period] is proud to support Shelter House, a Fairfax County-based non-profit that provides crisis intervention, safe housing, and supportive services to promote self-sufficiency for homeless families and victims of domestic violence. Shelter House was founded in 1981 and in 2010 became the first non-profit to operate Artemis House, Fairfax County's only 24-hour domestic violence shelter. Since 1981, Shelter House has transitioned from managing homeless issues to establishing strategies to end homelessness within the community by working closely with State, County, large businesses, small businesses, and individuals in order to acquire the resouces to meet their goals.
